Administration
GOVI Is administered by well qualified and professional staff both the blind, low vision and sighted occupying key and sensitive positions headed by the executive director. The staff comprises of field workers, Technical, administrative, teachers, drivers and cleaners as specified in the our organizational organogram .We usually have volunteers from overseas and within the Gambia who immensely contribute to the growth and development of the organization.

GOVI YOUTH WING
GOVI Women’s wing focus on empowering blind and visually impaired women and girls. They run income generation projects for women e.g. Soap Production and Sales.
GOVI youth wing work to help young blind and Visually impaired take an active part in society. Their activities include: Adult literacy classes for young blind
,Blind flame Musical Group.
GOVI runs multiple programmes for the visually impaired and these include:

Target Group and Beneficiaries:
GOVI is working with the vulnerable groups of the visually impaired that include the children, youth, women, men, and their families. These are people who are exposed to multiple risks and negligence in society leading to socially unacceptable levels of well-being. Visually impaired people especially children from families with unsecured livelihood are often more exposed to risks and are least protected from such circumstances.
PROJECT THAT PHASE OUT
GOVI has run a project called: Integrating Visually Impaired into Mainstream Education (IVICME). This project is geared toward the integration of children with visual impairment into mainstream school nationwide. To achieve that objective GOVI trains number of classroom teachers in all the six regions in The Gambia on modern assertive technology available for the teaching of the visually impaired pupil, Teaching strategy in regards to visually impaired children and on orientation and mobility among other activities the project is currently overseeing. This Project is funded by a UK based NGO called the Children in Crossfire (CIC)
